CELPIP General LS is the Listening & Speaking version of the CELPIP exam. It covers just two skills and is accepted by IRCC for Canadian citizenship (and for some Permanent Residence pathways) where you only need to prove how well you listen and speak in English.
The Listening and Speaking sections are identical to the ones in CELPIP General, so nothing here is watered down. Each full mock on this page runs both sections end to end, on real exam timing, with instant Listening scores and AI-scored Speaking feedback mapped to CELPIP levels.
Listening · 6 parts · 38 questions
Six parts of everyday Canadian audio: conversations, a news item and group discussions. Every recording plays once, the questions are read aloud, and every answer sits in the audio, so no outside knowledge is needed.
Part 1
A conversation in three short parts where a problem comes up and gets resolved. You answer after each part.
Part 2
One everyday dialogue between two speakers. Questions test meaning, decisions and what the speakers imply.
Part 3
A longer conversation where one speaker draws detailed information from the other. Questions focus on the specifics.
Part 4
A short news report read by a single newsreader. Questions cover the event, the people involved and the details.
Part 5
Three speakers discuss one issue, the only part with video on the real exam. Questions track each viewpoint and the outcome.
Part 6
One presenter lays out several opinions on an issue. Questions ask about the central decision and each point of view.
Speaking · 8 tasks
Eight recorded tasks that move from advice and personal stories to describing images, persuading and handling tricky situations. Each gives you a short prep time and a fixed speaking time. You answer out loud, into the mic.
Task 1
You read a short situation about someone you know and give them practical advice, explaining your reasons clearly.
Task 2
You describe a personal experience (what happened, how you felt and why it mattered) in a clear, connected way.
Task 3
You are shown a picture and describe what you see (the people, objects, actions and setting) in vivid detail.
Task 4
Using the same scene, you predict what is likely to happen next and explain what makes you think so.
Task 5
You choose one of several options, then persuade someone to agree with your choice, weighing the pros and cons.
Task 6
You are placed in an awkward, real-life situation and must choose a response, then speak tactfully to resolve it.
Task 7
You are asked a question on a familiar topic and share your opinion, supported with clear reasons and examples.
Task 8
You describe an unusual object or scene to someone who cannot see it, clearly enough for them to understand.
You take Listening first, then Speaking, back to back. Listening runs about 47-55 minutes and Speaking about 15-20, and each mock here uses the same on-screen timers as the real exam.
Listening is 38 equally-weighted questions with an instant answer key. Speaking is eight recorded tasks scored on content, vocabulary, listenability and task fulfillment. Both map to a CELPIP level, up to 12.
CELPIP LS is accepted by IRCC for Canadian citizenship and for some PR pathways that only require Listening and Speaking. If you need all four skills, take CELPIP General.
Finish a mock and see your Listening score right away, plus AI-scored Speaking feedback, every result mapped to a CELPIP level so you always know the gap to your goal.
The CELPIP LS test covers Listening and Speaking. To drill one section before a full sitting, use the sectional practice tests.

Everything test takers usually ask about the CELPIP LS test and how these full mock tests work.
CELPIP General LS (Listening & Speaking) is a shorter version of the CELPIP exam that covers only two skills: Listening and Speaking. It is accepted by IRCC for Canadian citizenship and for some Permanent Residence programs where only Listening and Speaking need to be proven.
CELPIP General tests all four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) and is used for Permanent Residence. CELPIP LS drops Reading and Writing and keeps only Listening and Speaking. The Listening and Speaking sections themselves are identical in both tests, so practice here counts for either exam.
Each mock is a complete Listening & Speaking test in one timed sitting: the full Listening section (6 parts, 38 questions) followed by the full Speaking section (8 tasks). You work through them back to back with realistic on-screen timers, just like test day.
It is one continuous sitting. Listening runs about 47-55 minutes including instructions, and Speaking about 15-20 minutes. Each mock here uses the same on-screen timers so you practise at real exam pace.
Listening has 38 equally-weighted multiple-choice questions and you get your answer key the moment you finish. Speaking has 8 recorded tasks that are assessed on content, vocabulary, listenability and task fulfillment. Both convert to a CELPIP level, with Level 12 the highest, so you can see exactly where you stand against your goal.
The full mocks are a Pro-plan benefit. Pro gives you all 100 CELPIP LS full mocks, each a complete timed Listening and Speaking sitting, along with the rest of the Pro library.
It is the right test if you only need to prove Listening and Speaking, most commonly for Canadian citizenship applications. If you need all four skills for Permanent Residence, take CELPIP General instead.
