Subject: Kitchen Plan for Dad’s Birthday
Hi Victor,
I wanted to sort out the baking day we planned for Dad’s birthday dinner with you. We agreed to make the cake and savoury pies at my apartment on Friday evening. I was looking forward to it, and everything seemed settled until this week. The reason I’m asking now is that my oven will not be repaired before the dinner. The replacement heating element arrived damaged and the technician reordered it. As a result, we cannot bake several dishes at my place as planned.
I first asked our cousin whether her large kitchen is available. She can let us use it from six until nine on Friday. I also checked the information we exchanged earlier so I would not overlook an existing condition. One detail to keep in mind is that the cake ingredients are already in my refrigerator and need to stay cold. My preferred solution is baking at our cousin’s house and bringing the ingredients in a cooler.
That would work best because her double oven lets us finish both pies and the cake in one evening. I do not want to change more of the arrangement than the current problem requires. If that works for you, I can update everything else as soon as you reply. Another possibility is ordering a bakery cake and cooking the pies on Saturday morning. The difficulty with that option is that Dad may arrive early and the morning schedule leaves no cooling time.
I thought about dropping the plan completely, but that would create more trouble than it solves. I’d rather use one of the practical alternatives that is already available. The practical detail I have not resolved is that I do not know whether your mixing bowls will fit in my small cooler. Please tell me what you think we should do about that part of the plan.
I kept the records about the baking day we planned for Dad’s birthday dinner together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about baking at our cousin’s house and bringing the ingredients in a cooler would prevent confusion. Thank you for considering the timing and practical effects of this request.
I need your answer by Thursday night. Our cousin needs to know whether to cancel her own dinner plans. What I’m hoping is that you can use our cousin’s kitchen and bring the larger mixing bowls. Once I hear from you, I will pack the chilled ingredients and meet you there after work.

Hi Nadia,
Thanks for laying out what changed and what you have already tried. I understand that . The first plan made sense, but this new issue clearly needs a different answer.
I can confirm that . That choice is suitable because . I’ve updated my notes so we won’t treat the earlier plan as final.
Because the cake ingredients are already in my refrigerator and need to stay cold, . I will send the revised instructions after I finish the update today. The other option can remain available if something changes before the deadline.
Please reply by so I know you accept the revised plan. After your confirmation, I will send the address and a final list of equipment to bring. Thanks for giving me enough detail to sort this out without another long exchange.
See you soon,
Victor
