Subject: Extra Walk for Pepper on Thursday

Hi Colin,

I wanted to check our plans for Pepper’s care while I attend the two-day training course. The pet sitter planned morning and evening visits on Thursday and Friday. I was looking forward to it, and everything seemed settled until this week. I need to change the plan because the sitter can no longer make Thursday’s evening visit.

Her workplace assigned an emergency closing shift after another employee became unavailable. As a result, Pepper would be alone too long between the afternoon and Friday morning visits. I first asked the sitter whether she could exchange the missed visit with another client. She found no opening but can leave the apartment key with the concierge.

I also checked the earlier arrangements before deciding which alternative might cause the least disruption. One detail to keep in mind is that you already pass my building after your Thursday art class. My preferred solution is having you take Pepper for a short walk on Thursday evening. That would work best because it fits your route and covers the only gap in the sitter’s schedule.

It would solve the immediate problem while keeping the useful details already settled. If that works for you, I can update everything else as soon as you reply. Another possibility is asking the sitter to add a late-night visit after work. The difficulty with that option is that she cannot promise when the closing shift will finish.

I thought about dropping the plan completely, but that would create more trouble than it solves. I’d rather use one of the practical alternatives that is already available. The practical detail I have not resolved is that Pepper’s reflective leash is in the hall cupboard rather than beside the door. Please tell me what you think we should do about that part of the plan.

I kept the records about Pepper’s care while I attend the two-day training course together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about having you take Pepper for a short walk on Thursday evening would prevent confusion. Thank you for considering the timing and practical effects of this request.

I need your answer by Wednesday night. The concierge needs the approved visitor name before Thursday morning. What I’m hoping is that you can take the evening walk and tell me what time you expect to arrive. Once I hear from you, I will add your name to the key list and leave Pepper’s dinner ready.

Hi Maya,

Thanks for explaining the mix-up and the options you considered. I understand that . The first plan made sense, but this new issue clearly needs a different answer.

I can confirm that . That choice is suitable because . I’ve updated my notes so we won’t treat the earlier plan as final.

Because you already pass my building after your Thursday art class, . I will send the revised instructions after I finish the update today. The other option can remain available if something changes before the deadline.

Please reply by so I know you accept the revised plan. After your confirmation, I will send the feeding note and concierge instructions. Thanks for giving me enough detail to sort this out without another long exchange.

See you soon,

Colin
