Subject: Earlier Ferry Departure on Saturday
Hi Devon,
I wanted to sort out our Saturday ferry trip to Gull Island with you. We planned to leave my house at seven for the nine o’clock sailing. I was looking forward to it, and everything seemed settled until this week. The reason I’m asking now is that the ferry company advanced our sailing by forty minutes. Maintenance on a later vessel forced the morning timetable to be reorganized. As a result, our original departure from home leaves too little time for vehicle check-in.
I first checked the reservation and called the terminal information line. Staff advised arriving no later than seven forty because we are travelling with a car. I also checked the information we exchanged earlier so I would not overlook an existing condition. One detail to keep in mind is that you are picking up the picnic cooler from Jules before coming to my house. My preferred solution is meeting at my house at six fifteen and collecting the cooler the night before.
That would work best because it protects our vehicle reservation and avoids a rushed stop on the way. I do not want to change more of the arrangement than the current problem requires. If that works for you, I can update everything else as soon as you reply. Another possibility is leaving at seven and travelling as foot passengers if the car space closes. The difficulty with that option is that we would lose the prepaid vehicle fee and have no transport on the island.
I thought about dropping the plan completely, but that would create more trouble than it solves. I’d rather use one of the practical alternatives that is already available. The practical detail I have not resolved is that the reservation email still shows the former sailing time in its subject line. Please tell me what you think we should do about that part of the plan.
I kept the records about our Saturday ferry trip to Gull Island together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about meeting at my house at six fifteen and collecting the cooler the night before would prevent confusion. Thank you for considering the timing and practical effects of this request.
I need your answer by Thursday evening. Jules needs notice before deciding whether to leave the cooler outside overnight. What I’m hoping is that you can agree to the earlier car departure and collect the cooler on Friday. Once I hear from you, I will update our shared itinerary and fill the fuel tank.

Hi Keira,
Thanks for laying out what changed and what you have already tried. I understand that . The first plan made sense, but this new issue clearly needs a different answer.
I can confirm that . That choice is suitable because . I’ve updated my notes so we won’t treat the earlier plan as final.
Because you are picking up the picnic cooler from Jules before coming to my house, . I will send the revised instructions after I finish the update today. The other option can remain available if something changes before the deadline.
Please reply by so I know you accept the revised plan. After your confirmation, I will send a corrected itinerary with the terminal arrival time. Thanks for giving me enough detail to sort this out without another long exchange.
See you soon,
Devon
