I wanted to check our plans for our Tuesday evening football practice at Maple Run Field. We planned a full outdoor session at six thirty before Saturday’s friendly match. I was looking forward to it, and everything seemed settled until this week. I need to change the plan because the field is closed because its surface is waterlogged. Two days of heavy irrigation followed an unexpected drainage blockage. As a result, the grounds crew will not allow cleats on the soft turf.

I first asked the nearby school caretaker about unused indoor space. The school gym is available from seven until eight thirty if we use indoor shoes. Before suggesting a change, I reviewed our earlier messages and the details already confirmed. One detail to keep in mind is that you currently have the bag containing the team cones and training bibs. My preferred solution is moving practice to the school gym at seven. That would work best because we can still rehearse passing and positioning before Saturday’s match.

That approach would preserve the parts of the plan that still work for everyone. If that works for you, I can update everything else as soon as you reply. Another possibility is holding a shorter outdoor session in the paved parking area. The difficulty with that option is that the hard surface is unsuitable for the drills and creates a greater risk of falls. I thought about dropping the plan completely, but that would create more trouble than it solves. I’d rather use one of the practical alternatives that is already available.

The practical detail I have not resolved is that the school requires one adult to sign for the gym key before six. Please tell me what you think we should do about that part of the plan. I kept the records about our Tuesday evening football practice at Maple Run Field together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about moving practice to the school gym at seven would prevent confusion.
