Subject: New Place for Wednesday Book Club

Hi Lucas,

I wanted to check our plans for Wednesday’s book club meeting at my apartment. I planned to host at seven and make soup before everyone arrived. I was looking forward to it, and everything seemed settled until this week. I need to change the plan because the kitchen and living-room water will be turned off that evening. The plumber found a second leaking pipe and extended the repair into Wednesday. As a result, I cannot cook or provide a usable washroom for the group.

I first asked Mara whether the reading room in her building is available. She can reserve it from seven until nine if we confirm the guest list. Before suggesting a change, I reviewed our earlier messages and the details already confirmed. One detail to keep in mind is that you already volunteered to bring the discussion notes and extra copies. My preferred solution is moving the meeting to Mara’s reading room at the same time. That would work best because it keeps our date and gives us a quiet room with basic facilities.

That approach would preserve the parts of the plan that still work for everyone. If that works for you, I can update everything else as soon as you reply. Another possibility is postponing until the following Wednesday. The difficulty with that option is that two members are travelling then and would miss the final discussion. I thought about dropping the plan completely, but that would create more trouble than it solves. I’d rather use one of the practical alternatives that is already available.

The practical detail I have not resolved is that the reading room allows covered drinks but not homemade soup. Please tell me what you think we should do about that part of the plan. I kept the records about Wednesday’s book club meeting at my apartment together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about moving the meeting to Mara’s reading room at the same time would prevent confusion.

Thank you for considering the timing and practical effects of this request. I need your answer by Tuesday at noon. Mara must submit the guest list one day before the meeting. What I’m hoping is that you can accept the new room and ask members to bring their own covered drinks. Once I hear from you, I will cancel the soup and send Mara the guest names.

Hi Yasmin,

Thanks for explaining the mix-up and the options you considered. I understand that . The first plan made sense, but this new issue clearly needs a different answer.

I can confirm that . That choice is suitable because . I’ve updated my notes so we won’t treat the earlier plan as final.

Because you already volunteered to bring the discussion notes and extra copies, . I will send the revised instructions after I finish the update today. The other option can remain available if something changes before the deadline.

Please reply by so I know you accept the revised plan. After your confirmation, I will send the entry code and updated meeting message. Thanks for giving me enough detail to sort this out without another long exchange.

See you soon,

Lucas
