Subject: Scanner Needed for Friday Inventory

Hi Darius,

I wanted to follow up about the handheld scanner assigned to our Friday inventory team. We planned to collect it from Cabinet Three before the afternoon count. Everything appeared to be settled, and I had planned around the original arrangement. The problem is that the scanner is no longer in its labelled charging slot.

Another department borrowed several devices during last week’s emergency stock check. As a result, our team has only one scanner for four aisles. I first reviewed the equipment log and contacted the night supervisor. The missing device was signed into the shipping office but never returned in the system.

I also checked the earlier arrangements before deciding which alternative might cause the least disruption. One detail to keep in mind is that you are scheduled near shipping before your morning safety check. My preferred solution is having you collect the scanner and verify its battery at shipping. That would work best because it restores our equipment before the count without delaying either team.

It would solve the immediate problem while keeping the useful details already settled. If this is acceptable, I can update the remaining details as soon as I receive your reply. Another possibility is requesting a replacement scanner from the central depot. The difficulty with that option is that delivery may take two days and the depot charges our unit for rush service.

I considered cancelling the arrangement entirely, but that would create unnecessary work for everyone involved. For that reason, I would rather use one of the practical alternatives already available. The practical detail I have not resolved is that the scanner’s charging cable is still in Cabinet Three. Please let me know how that part should be handled if the preferred plan is approved.

I kept the records about the handheld scanner assigned to our Friday inventory team together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about having you collect the scanner and verify its battery at shipping would prevent confusion. Thank you for considering the timing and practical effects of this request.

I need your answer by Thursday at noon. We need time to report the device missing if shipping cannot locate it. Most importantly, I am asking you to check the shipping office and bring back the signed scanner. Once I hear from you, I will test the cable and update the equipment log.

Thanks,

Priyanka

Hi Priyanka,

Thanks for setting out the problem and the alternatives so clearly. I understand that . The original arrangement was reasonable, but the new complication calls for a different plan.

I can confirm that . That choice is suitable because . I have updated the records so the earlier arrangement is no longer treated as final.

Because you are scheduled near shipping before your morning safety check, . I will send the revised instructions after I finish the update today. The other option can remain available if something changes before the deadline.

Please reply by so I know you accept the revised plan. After your confirmation, I will send the updated equipment list to both supervisors. Thank you for providing enough detail to resolve this without another round of questions.

Best,

Darius
