Subject: Change to Saturday’s Reunion Picnic
Hi Jonah,
I wanted to sort out the reunion picnic our old class planned at Alderbank Park with you. We reserved Pine Shelter for Saturday at noon and divided the food list. I was looking forward to it, and everything seemed settled until this week. The reason I’m asking now is that Pine Shelter will be closed during an unexpected electrical inspection. The parks office found damaged wiring during its weekly check.
As a result, our group cannot use the covered tables or the nearby power outlet. I first called the parks office to ask whether another shelter was free. The clerk offered Willow Shelter on the same day starting at one o’clock. I went back through the original information to make sure the difficulty was not based on a misunderstanding. One detail to keep in mind is that Maya already ordered a cake for pickup near the park at eleven thirty.
My preferred solution is moving the picnic to Willow Shelter at one o’clock. That would work best because it keeps the same day and gives everyone enough covered seating. This seems more practical than rebuilding the arrangement from the beginning. If that works for you, I can update everything else as soon as you reply. Another possibility is holding the picnic in my backyard at noon.
The difficulty with that option is that street parking is limited and several classmates are bringing young children. I thought about dropping the plan completely, but that would create more trouble than it solves. I’d rather use one of the practical alternatives that is already available. The practical detail I have not resolved is that the shelter change does not automatically move our portable barbecue permit. Please tell me what you think we should do about that part of the plan.
I kept the records about the reunion picnic our old class planned at Alderbank Park together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about moving the picnic to Willow Shelter at one o’clock would prevent confusion. Thank you for considering the timing and practical effects of this request.
I need your answer by Wednesday evening. I must confirm the alternate shelter before the office releases it to another group. What I’m hoping is that you can agree to the Willow Shelter change and tell the group about the later start. Once I hear from you, I will call the permit desk and send everyone a revised map.

Hi Amina,
Thanks for laying out what changed and what you have already tried. I understand that . The first plan made sense, but this new issue clearly needs a different answer.
I can confirm that . That choice is suitable because . I’ve updated my notes so we won’t treat the earlier plan as final.
Because Maya already ordered a cake for pickup near the park at eleven thirty, . I will send the revised instructions after I finish the update today. The other option can remain available if something changes before the deadline.
Please reply by so I know you accept the revised plan. After your confirmation, I will email the final shelter number and updated food schedule. Thanks for giving me enough detail to sort this out without another long exchange.
See you soon,
Jonah
