Reading Test 27 · Part 1 (Wrong Date on Museum Tickets)Pro

Subject: Wrong Date on the Museum Tickets

Hi Jonah,

I wanted to check our plans for our timed tickets for the Harbour History Museum. We planned to visit next Saturday at eleven before the afternoon walking tour. I was looking forward to it, and everything seemed settled until this week. I need to change the plan because I accidentally purchased the tickets for this Saturday.

The calendar on the booking page reopened to the current week after my first payment attempt failed. As a result, our entry will expire before we reach the city. I first used the museum exchange form and attached the payment receipt. Staff can move both tickets if the request includes the future time we want.

I also checked the earlier arrangements before deciding which alternative might cause the least disruption. One detail to keep in mind is that you already booked the walking tour to begin near the museum at two. My preferred solution is changing the tickets to next Saturday at eleven thirty. That would work best because the time leaves enough space for the museum and a relaxed walk to the tour.

It would solve the immediate problem while keeping the useful details already settled. If that works for you, I can update everything else as soon as you reply. Another possibility is requesting a full refund and buying new tickets later. The difficulty with that option is that weekend spaces are filling and the refund takes several business days.

I thought about dropping the plan completely, but that would create more trouble than it solves. I’d rather use one of the practical alternatives that is already available. The practical detail I have not resolved is that the exchange form asks for the original purchaser’s telephone number. Please tell me what you think we should do about that part of the plan.

I kept the records about our timed tickets for the Harbour History Museum together for this review. No other related plan needs to change while this matter is reviewed. A written reply about changing the tickets to next Saturday at eleven thirty would prevent confusion. Thank you for considering the timing and practical effects of this request.

I need your answer by Tuesday morning. Museum staff process date changes in the order received. What I’m hoping is that you can approve the eleven-thirty time and let me include your ticket number. Once I hear from you, I will submit the complete exchange request and update our itinerary.

Hi Amina,

Thanks for explaining the mix-up and the options you considered. I understand that . The first plan made sense, but this new issue clearly needs a different answer.

I can confirm that . That choice is suitable because . I’ve updated my notes so we won’t treat the earlier plan as final.

Because you already booked the walking tour to begin near the museum at two, . I will send the revised instructions after I finish the update today. The other option can remain available if something changes before the deadline.

Please reply by so I know you accept the revised plan. After your confirmation, I will forward the revised tickets and walking directions. Thanks for giving me enough detail to sort this out without another long exchange.

See you soon,

Jonah
