Insurance Service Survey
A neighbourhood library has funding for one new service for recently arrived residents. Many newcomers use the branch to find local information, complete online forms, and practise English, but the library can support only one program during its first year.
Choose the option that you prefer. Why do you prefer your choice? Explain the reasons for your choice. Write about 150–200 words.

Sample Answer
I would use the funding to hire a part-time settlement navigator. Multilingual stations would answer routine questions, but a person can respond when situations become confusing. A newcomer may understand how to complete an online school-registration form yet still be unsure which documents apply to a child who arrived halfway through the year. A navigator could look at the form with the parent, identify the next local office to contact, and book an interpreter if needed. That short conversation could prevent unnecessary trips across the city. Printed guides cannot provide that kind of tailored follow-up. The service would also help the library keep its information accurate. If visitors repeatedly ask about affordable language classes or winter clothing donations, the navigator could tell staff which brochures need updating. During my first month in a new city, I received three different answers about where to obtain a health card; one knowledgeable contact would have saved a great deal of time. The library could still place key guides online in several languages. For its first dedicated investment, personal guidance would make the branch far easier to use.
